When I try to download any app I get the following error
Please check that your billing address and payment method are from a supported country
even though billing address and visa card are both Spanish.
So I am physically located in Spain, the tablet has just been powered on (straight out of the box brand new). Signed onto to amazon as prompted and then used the "For You" recommendations page to the left of the home page which gives access to Appstore. Also tried going directly from the home page using Appstore app and still the same error.

What do I do now, should I just send it back to Amazon.es?
I'm sorry you're having this issue with your Fire HD 8. Did you purchase your Fire HD 8 from amazon.es? If so, go to Manage Your Content and Devices, click Preferences and check Country Settings. Also check that this Fire tablet shows as registered to this account.

Hi Kristen, yes the tablet came from Amazon.es. So I logged onto amazon and checked country settings for devices (we also have a kindle paperwhite) and this is set to UK so we get English as the device language as well as recommendations for English books. However we live in Spain and our address and payment methods are spanish. This has not been a problem with the kindle but seems to be a show stopper for the Fire HD.
I am also reluctant to change this to Spain as I believe it will also change the kindle to Spanish?
